Act 3

In the last act of Ghosts everything is put on the table. The truth about Oswald and Regine being half brother and sister is out. Regine gets mad when she finds out about this because she grew up thinking she was just a maid when in fact she would've had as many much rights as anybody in the house because she too was Captain Alving's blood. After Regine leaves, Oswald starts blaming Mrs. Alving because he had in mind to marry Regine in return of her killing him. The reason for that is because Oswald is suffering from the disease of Syphilis, and is taking morphine. Mrs. Alving is basically in denial at first, she doesn't accept the fact that her son is really ill, and tells him that morphine is not the way to go, that she will always be there to care for him. Towards the end of the play Oswald keeps saying, "the sun...the sun", this can be that finally the light is out, the truths are no longer secrets. And me as a reader, I want to know what did Mrs. Alving end up doing? She took the morphine but what did she do with it??.......
